Social Emotional Learning

At CWC Williamsburg, we view social-emotional learning (SEL) as an essential part of a child’s development and build time within our schedule to focus on SEL instruction and reinforcement. Throughout the academic day, students take part in Morning Meeting, SEL instruction, Structured Play, and Closing Circle. These times are set aside to help children work on skills such as self-awareness, empathy, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Students also learn to practice mindfulness as part of our SEL program.
